hi, i'm using a CentOS 7 minimal version for my squid proxy, but how should I check/repair my HDD (linux partition) for bad sectors?
I tried the example found in google but it has no success...
Checking for bad sector
Re: Checking for bad sector
Use smartctl to show the disk attributes. If you are seeing bad sectors then it's time to replace the disk anyway - by the time you "see" them, it means that the disk has already used up its entire allocation of spare sectors and has run out (which it does behind the scenes without notification) and now things are getting really bad...
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
