Extend disk - in Centos 7.3 - hyperv support

Post by SystemadminEU » 2017/07/31 13:37:53

I am working on getting Centos 7.3 1611 to Work on a Clustered Hyper-V solution, they will al be used for Wordpress and MySQL.

For me, it is important to use Generation 2 so that I can extend disk while the server is powered on.

When I am testing this, I only find extremly complictated stuff for extending a disk partition.
My partition style is like Windows, I do not put any applications on diffrent volumes.

When searching I find
fdisk
gdisk
kpartx
lvm2
parted

but none of those has an application or DOS/Gui feeling, so why does
GParted
PartedMagic
Only have an option to boot and then extend, howcome Windows Win on this simple operation.

In Windows, you extend the disk in by scanning for changes and extending the volume, it is a one minute task, why is Centos and others such poor to do a followup?
Microsoft made this available before 2003?

Back to my question
Does their exsist an application, that can be downloaded with yum, that contains a GUI or function that extends a partition to a new higher size with out reading diffrent forums?
