Hello all,
I'm in Alaska, my server is in Washington… I'd like to connect to my server, via SSH TigerVNC.
I installed "epel-release", so I could install the "xfce desktop environment". I just changed from "multi-user.target", to "graphical.target". Essentially changing run levels.
My newbie question is:
Will I still be able to connect to this server, via regular SSH connection? Do things at the command line with Putty, even though it set to graphical.target?
I'm doing my best to follow the instructions at:
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server
I'd like to eventually set it up as a secure connection…
TigerVNC via SSH runlevel III or V
Re: TigerVNC via SSH runlevel III or V
If sshd is running you can always connect over plain ssh as long as you don't change anything server side to automatically log you out etc.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
