Some windows/dialog boxes become transparent

Post by chessmonster123 » 2017/10/20 09:30:00

Hello,

I'm using a virtual CentOS system provided by our sys admins and I am accessing via rdp from windows.

Whenever I'm using Firefox, Thunderbird and LibreOffice Calc, some dialog boxes or parts of the applications appear to be transparent especially in Thunderbird's dialog boxes. Like when I'm trying to setup message filters, and it does open multiple dialog boxes, I can barely understand what is shown in the screen since 3 windows are transparent and they are all overlapping.

I used the tweak tool to allow me to move the inner dialog box away from the parent dialog box. It helps, but there are still stuff that I'm not able to see properly.

I also checked my remote settings and the graphics settings are all max. I'm not sure where to look anymore, there is no transparency settings in centos 7 as far as I know,

Alright it doesn't make sense to me. I got the transparency fixed after I change the color depth of the remote session from 32bit to 24bit. At 24 bit, my centos now looks as expected.
