Not Able to install CentOS 7 on HP Proliant ML 370

Post by vadali123 » 2017/10/23 04:29:49

We are trying to install CentOS 7 on HP Proliant ML 370 G5 server using external DVD. The server boots with the DVD ROM and the screen appears where we can set the time and pick the Destination but it is not showing any hard disk. Please help.

G5 RAID controller are too old to be supported by CentOS 7. Either use CentOS 6 or one of the workarounds from threads on this board but be aware that they're unsupported and if your system subsequently breaks then you get to keep all the pieces.

G5's must be 10 years old.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
