Location of postgresql.conf file for Postgres 9.6 under CentOS 7.x?

Post by onetech-it » 2017/11/18 01:30:42

I am unable to find the postgresql.conf file, required in order to change the default data location for PostgreSQL 9.6.6. All tutorials I've seen keep directing me to look under /etc/postgresql/9.5/main, but that directory doesn't appear to exist when installing PGSQL 9.6.6 from rpm , under CentOS 7.

Any ideas where I should be looking for this config file?

We don't ship postgresql 9.6. The version we ship is 9.2.23 and it doesn't have a postgresql.conf except for one in /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d and that's to do with getting systemd to create the necessary directories under /run at boot time, not to do with postgresql configuration.

To find out how your version 9.6 works you'll need to ask the people that supply it.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
