USB Keyboard issue

when booting centos 7 keyboard is not active to get into BIOS and when fully loaded keyboard does not work until I unplug usb connection and replug back in, it wil start working. getting message below




hp6305plx kernel: atkbd serio0: Failed to enable keyboard on isa0060/serio0, in dmesg.


any help would be appreciated

When you cannot enter the BIOS then it's a PC/BIOS problem, not a CentOS problem.
If your PC has both USB 2 and 3 ports, maybe you could try your keyboard in the other type?

Also make sure the "Legacy USB" option is enabled in the BIOS settings.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

This issue is caused by a defective or issues with universal type keyboards connected to HP's.
Proved out swapped keyboard with HP keyboard and also tried defective keyboard on another HP computer and it had same problem.
