Options for kernel on ARM

Post by szilagyic » 2018/01/17 21:57:05

Hello:

I was recently looking at trying to run CentOS 7 on an ARM-based device (Banana Pi) using one of the images available for it now. However, one of the things I need is AppleTalk support, which as far as I can tell is not available in the standard CentOS kernel. In the past I've had to get the CentOSPlus kernel for this. Unfortunately though it looks like CentOSPlus is only for x86_64.

Does anybody know of a simple or straightforward way to get a pre-compiled kernel for CentOS for ARM (Banana Pi), with additional options like AppleTalk? Something like CentOSPlus for ARM would be great but so far I have not been able to find anything like that.

If I need to compile my own kernel, are there instructions for a Banana Pi to compile it right on the device iteself? I have looked for something but I have not been able to find it. I know there are differences from x86 and I have never attempted this on an ARM device like this before.

I appreciate the help and feedback.

Thank you.
