Kernel devvelopment question

Post by BrianDStark » 2018/01/18 21:31:33

After installing kernel 4.14 I need to install the kernel-devel package. The only kernel-devel package yum recognizes is 3.10... When I install that package I still cannot build my driver (the build script is not found in the 4.14 kernel). Is there a kernel-devel package that will work with 4.14?

Sorry if this forum is not appropriate for this question, please direct me to a more appropriate forum if so.

You need to --enablerepo=elrepo-kernel to see if (if it's not already enabled)

kernel-ml-devel.x86_64 4.14.14-1.el7.elrepo elrepo-kernel
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
