How to add an app to CentOS Repositories

Post by Ksu7 » 2018/02/13 08:58:25

Hey!

Is there any opportunity to add an application (desktop editors for documents, spreadsheets and presentations) to CentOS Repositories?
Where can I find any relevant info or whom can I email to discuss it?

Thanks!

As CentOS aims to be as close to RH as possible, you cannot add packages to the CentOS repositories other than by convincing RedHat to include your application(s) into their releases.

https://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResou ... positories lists various repositories. If your applications fall within the goals of one of these, you could try to contact them.

If the application is only likely to be used by your machines, then you can create your own private repository and dump the appropriate definition into /etc/yum.repos.d

The EPEL third party repo has a lower barrier to entry and supplies packages for RHEL and all its clones.
