Samba 4 as a primary dc

Hi all,
Has anyone here ever installed samba 4 as a primary domain controller?
Mine is currently installed as a standalone mode with windows clients connecting only to shares.
I’m interested in centrally controlling username / password authentication too for both windows and Linux clients but mainly windows ones.
Is it possible to change from standalone mode to a dc mode?
I would be interested in guidance.
I have googled but only seem to find initial installation instructions to install samba 4 as a dc from scratch. I already have it installed and so not sure how convert across.
I am on centos 7. I also have another location with centos 6 (latest updates installed)
