Error on boot after update.

Post by Cyberika » 2018/05/11 01:27:14

Hello,
After latest update the system stacks on boot. I get this message “a start job is running for gnome display manager”.
I can’t login in ctrl + f3 but after “e” kay and space+ 3 I can login to system. I have installed latest kernel 3.10.0.-862.2.3.el7.x86.64 and reinstalelled kmod-nvidia but I still can’t load GNOME.

390.48-2.el7_5.elrepo.x86_64
I have tried boot with uninstalled kmod nvidia without success.
One more thing. When I yum update it says qt5 dependecy problems. And yum update —skip-broken not working.

What problems? Be exact.

One obviously should not skip broken dependencies, unless one is sure that the error is a false positive. Nevertheless, your "not working" could mean either "yum refuses to update" or "yum updates, but result is broken system".

qt5 dependency problems can probably be fixed by adding --enablerepo=epel-testing to yum's command line.
