how to ping the hostname from the remote server

Hi Team,

Could some one please tell me what is the procedure to ping the hostname from the remote server

server1.tst.com = Its ip address is 10.20.3.5 in the same server inside the
/etc/hosts

10.20.3.5 server1.tst.com


now when i try to ping server1 from server2

getting message as unknow host how to fix the problem do i need to restart any other service apart from NetworManager.

If you want to ping server1 from server2 then you have to add server1 to server2's /etc/hosts file.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
