Move the mouse, do some disk i/o, anything that'll generate some entropy. You could also look at installing rngd or haveged.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Logon in a different session. Do stuff that makes the computer do work.
