Vsftpd problem

Post by SymoClash » 2018/07/09 21:33:16

Hello everyone i'm new here. After lot of research on Google i haven't found a fix for my problem.

I bought a VPS and installed vsftpd, everything works. I created the user to connect to the ftp and so on.

The problem is, i can't upload/download ANYTHING! I'm getting "Critical error" from FileZilla. I set the home directory already.

Since i'll be the ONLY who'll manage this VPS, how i can assign GLOBAL permissions for this ftp account? How i can? I need to download and upload files in every possible folder (or at least where it's permitted by my VPS configuration).

Centos 7 64 bit. Thank you.

Are you sure that:
1. VPS provider does not filter some of the ports?
2. VPS provider does not shape your traffic in any way?

Start by reading /var/log/vsftpd.log and see if there are errors listed.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
