CentOS stuck at boot screen

Post by logg sar » 2018/07/24 11:31:28

Hi there,

when I´m trying to boot my system from a USB Stick it stucks at the progress bar.
Its 3.10.0-862.9.1.el7.x86_64 Core
So I pressed ESC an got the boot messages.

The final line says

Code: Select all

megaraid_sys 0000:02:00.0 Init cmd return status SUCCESS for SCSI host 0
[/b]

Yes, there is a RAID Controller, but this isn't supposed to happen.

The rescue system is starting.

What to do now?

Reboot and remove rhgb quiet from the kernel command line so you see all the kernel messages at boot time. Pressing Esc only shows you the most recent.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Removing rhgb was enough. Now the system booted. Strange

I´ll reconfigure grub.

Thank you TrevorH
