Centos 7 installer hangs with dracut-initqueue timeout and dead keyboard

Post by jkow » 2018/08/07 21:16:53

Hi

I'm trying to install CentOS 7 from CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1804.iso (from DVD) on quite old Fujitsu Esprimo P2550 with Intel Pentium E5400 2.7GHz and NVIDIA GeForce 9300GE.

Installer hangs for couple of minutes with this screen:

After about 5 minutes there is a lot of "dracut-initqueue timeout" messages and finally this screen appears:

Keyboard is dead at this time so I can't try anything.

I tried suggestion of adding "rdblacklist=nouveau nouveau.modeset=0" to kernel parameters, but without success.

I also tried adding "text" for text mode installation. Result is as follows:

These ATA timeouts are strange - these drives work when I boot different Linux from Live CD.

Do you have any suggestions?

Same with me. Same error occurs also with CentOS 6. The difference between me & you, is that i created a USB using Unetbootin/Win10.
