Personally, I think "yum <whatever> -y" is a bad habit for interactive use. Drop the -y, and make sure yum is doing what you expect before pressing "y".

If yum does not work, it most probably gives you some sort of an error message. What it is?

You need to fix your DNS or network. The error is "Could not resolve host: mirrorlist.centos.org: " though I had to rely on google translate to turn "nieznany blad" into "Unknown error".

Check the contents of /etc/resolv.conf to make sure it contains "nameserver 1.2.3.4" lines (where 1.2.3.4 is the ip address of your or your ISP's DNS server. Make sure you can reach that ip address using ping. Check that your routing is correct and that you can e.g ping 8.8.8.8 and fix that if not.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

As I mentioned I don't have basic knowledge. Ok, if I used two PC / one with WIN, one with CentOS/ connected to the same router, so connections should be correct.

Please advise , how I can start learn. Step by step.

I started with less than basic knowledge - there are many excellent resources available from forums to books - its up to you how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, I decided to go all in
