what is x-space compliant rpm in CentOS
grub2-pc-modules rpm is not x-space compliant .
Hi Team,
Following files from grub2-pc-modules-2.02-0.65.el7.centos.2.noarch rpm are not x-space compliant
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/diskboot.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/lzma_decompress.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/pxeboot.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/cdboot.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/lnxboot.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/boot_hybrid.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/boot.image
/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/kernel.exec
Is there any plan to make these files x-space compliant in next versions?
Regards,
Vyshnav

Re: grub2-pc-modules rpm is not x-space compliant .
What is x-space? Google shows no hits for it.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Same question as your other (duplicate?) thread: What is x-space? Google has never heard of it.

So you are talking about executable-space protection

There's tricky Ol' Satan again raising his head... about the Space Force which we are told is going to "protect us" in by being able to "execute in Space". I swear the Devil made me do it.George99 wrote: ↑2018/10/09 16:02:19So you are talking about executable-space protection

Thanks, I had entirely forgotten that I had written such instructions.George99 wrote: ↑2018/10/09 16:02:19The last post by avij in this thread viewtopic.php?t=61264 may help you to check whether the protection is active or not on your installation.
I've merged this and the grub topic now.
