SOS:Unplanned\abnormal restart. kernel: microcode: microcode updated

Post by baiyi » 2018/10/11 09:23:09

Describe :
CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core)
Server hardware is normal. Deploy the KVM virtualization environment, with about 10 virtual machines
The server was restarted abnormally. This restart was not planned.
Check the system log and find the following information. Is it a reboot caused by a microcode update? But why is microcode automatically updated?Do not understand, help, please help me, how to avoid the server restart again?

Microcode update happens very early in the boot process, so it shouldn't be your root cause. Check the system's logs, especially '/var/log/messages'.
Also check if any kernel dump has been generated and if possible configure remote logging.

On HP hardware there is a mechanism called Automatic System Recovery that ,if enabled, can cause a reboot of the system that was unresponsive for some time.
Other vendors provide similar functionality.
