Remove duplicate packages centos 7

Post by jeankoepsel » 2018/11/09 12:53:45

Good morning, it occurs that the server we have is experiencing problems with duplicate packages in Yum Update.
How to solve this in a way that does not have to cause a stop, or that causes a problem in the server, is already an internet server, proxy and email ...
Until I found something, but are very old postings of (2010 and 2011) hence I am in doubt if it still applies to the current version of CentOS 7.5.1804 and there is information if it can cause some problem, like removing some package and or configuration in use, and cause system shutdown.

Here's the situation in .txt file in Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Yqqmq ... b-v7qN2UM/

:?:

Thanks in advance.

https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Cleaning ... tePackages

You'll need the 7.5 version of yum-utils to get the newer package-cleanup. On my system that's yum-utils-1.1.31-46.el7_5.noarch
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
