How to switch to GUI in Anaconda

Post by Elliott » 2018/11/14 01:09:47

While installing CentOS, I can press Alt-Tab or Ctrl-Alt-F2 to switch to a console. How can I switch back to the GUI? Alt-Tab cycles between the 5 pages, but the main screen is now just text.

Good question!!! I have no idea, but have you thought of either Escape or Exit? That *might* take you pack to the previous page. Alternately you could simply reboot the machine.

I think it's Alt-F1 or some other Alt-Fx.

Alt F1 does take you back to the "main" page, but the GUI is gone and all I see is text, with no way to type anything. I did try Escape.
Rebooting will work of course, but I was wondering if there's a faster way.

It's Alt-Ctrl-F6 or if not F6 then try them one by one until you find it.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
