sources missing for 7.6.1810

Post by plaguedbypenguins » 2018/12/06 09:05:22

Hiya,

sources for 7.6.1810 seem to be missing.

eg. this fails to find anything
yumdownloader --source kernel-3.10.0-957.1.3.el7

I can't find this .src.rpm anywhere in http://vault.centos.org or http://mirror.centos.org/ either.

it's not just the kernel. AFAICT it's pretty much every packages that's new in 7.6.1810 that is missing.

am I just looking in the wrong place?

cheers,
robin

It takes time to copy them all to vault and there are more important things that need to use the bandwidth so this doesn't usually happen until a few days after release. There is a bug report to track it already : https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=15537
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

The sources are also available at https://git.centos.org/ even before any binary rpms are released by CentOS. If you need the sources in a source rpm format, https://wiki.centos.org/Sources has the needed commands to construct the srpms.
