NoSuchSymbolException while trying to run jmap

The jmap command gives an exception when it tries to generate heap.

sun.jvm.hotspot.tools.HeapSummary requires a java VM process/core!

We are seeing this issue after we started using openjdk. previously we were using oracle jdk, with that the things are working fine.

Please help with this.
