lm_sensors not reporting CPU temp - AMD 2970WX

Post by ochie » 2019/08/14 22:00:50

Hi All,

I installed lm_sensors and noticed I do not see any "Core 0, Core x...) in the output...not sure what my CPU temp is.

Any way to fix this?

Code: Select all

You probably need a new kernel module/driver and possibly a newer version of sensors - I'm guess that RH didn't backport it. Have a read of https://github.com/lm-sensors/lm-sensors/issues/16

After running an AMD Ryzen 2950X on the stock kernel for a couple of weeks, I moved to the elrepo kernel-ml to solve several issues, such as lm_sensors. Here is my full sensors output:

Code: Select all

# sensors

k10temp-pci-00cb

Tdie: +37.1°C (high = +70.0°C)
Tctl: +64.1°C

temp1: +46.0°C (high = +95.0°C, hyst = +3.0°C)
                       (crit = +105.0°C, hyst = +5.0°C)
                       (emerg = +135.0°C, hyst = +5.0°C)

The first and/or last stanzas with Tdie/Tctl are my main interest, where Tctl = Tdie + 27. Tdie is the actual temperature.

My goal is to move to el 8.1 in the future and to use the stock kernel.
