I want to use the new snapshot support in the newest version (1.0) of virt-manager (see http://blog.wikichoon.com/2014/03/snaps ... nager.html ).
My CentOS 7 is updated to the latest available after a standard install and "yum update". Virtual Machine Manager reports version 0.10.0 when I do Help/About.
I did follow the instructions that I found here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt ... 00106.html
It gave me some newer versions of KVM & QEMU but did not change virt-manager.
What is the recommended way to get virt-manager 1.0?

CentOS supports what it ships. Replacing core programs with newer versions is not recommended.

I found an acceptable workaround. I created a Fedora 21 virtual machine. It has Virtual Machine Manager at version 1.1.0.
I have a remote connection from the Fedora 21 virt-manager to the CentOS 7 vm instance that now has the oVirt updates for KVM & QEMU.
I can now see the "Manage VM snapshots" icon on the Console window of my KVM nested test virtual machine. I am loading the test vm with Ubuntu 14.04 minimal server in order to experiment with the snapshot feature.
