Hi,

I was wondering if devassistant is available on centos?

Thanks.

Probably. Fedora devassistant won't build on CentOS 7 for lack of dependencies:

Code: Select all

[root@localhost ~]# yum install pytest python2-devel python-flexmock python-jinja2 python-progress PyYAML
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: mirror.skylink-datacenter.de
 * elrepo: ftp.osuosl.org
 * epel: mirror0.babylon.network
 * extras: mirror.imt-systems.com
 * nux-dextop: li.nux.ro
 * updates: centos.schlundtech.de
No package python-flexmock available.
No package python-progress available.
They may be available on some third party repo, but I am lazy... ;)

I checked out the about site https://www.softwarecollections.org/en/about/ and it looks like a Red Hat initiative, also on http://developerblog.redhat.com/tag/sof ... llections/ i see links to the softwarecollections.org website.

Is it not convenient to add this repo to the wiki on centos?

There is a new CentOS SIG that is changing the way that SCLs are produced and I think any changes would need to wait for that to produce results.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Any news about the SIG for packaging SCL?
Wouldn't mind to participate, because i like the stability of Centos compared to Fedora, would be nice to add some newer packages, like the development tools etc.

You need to make contact via the CentOS-Devel mailing list. Just join the mailing list, take a look through the archive to get a "feel" for how it operates and then make a post offering your services to the relevant SIG.
