yum upgrade problem

This started happening a few days ago - up till then, I had no problems doing the same thing.

I am installing CentOS 7 x86_64 as a Virtual Box VM. The installation proceeds without any issues. Once it is completed, I do the following:

# yum upgrade

This prints out a lot of data, and ends up thus:

It is always exactly the same thing - it gets stuck in the polkit packages. This is what I know:

1. Every time I am using a fresh-installed VM.
2. The installation options don't seem to make much of a difference, within the range of what I am interested in: the end result is always the same, as described above.
3. This started happening one day ago. Before that, I never had any problems.
4. There are no network issues whatsoever that I know of - the system can connect to hosts in the Internet, and is accessible from hosts in the same network.
5. There is no network proxy - the Internet connection uses the same gateway that has always used.

Any ideas as to what may be going on here?

Oh - it wasn't just me! I used rpm -e polkit --nodeps to remove it long enough to run yum update. Then I yum installed polkit again.

Thanks. In my case, I had to do

rpm -e polkit --nodeps
rpm -e polkit-devel --nodeps
rpm -e polkit-doc --nodeps

in order to get yum upgrade unstuck.

After trying the solutions provided by @Rensenbrink and @lightman47 - which had inspired me (thank you, guys!) - I had to uninstall the polkit-doc.noarch, and run yum update again to get the update problem solved. I hope this inspire other users. ;)

A common complaint in all the yum output there is about deltarpm failing.

Can someone who is experiencing the problem please try adding deltarpm=0 to /etc/yum.conf and see if the problem then goes away?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Thanks TrevorH! This worked for me:

echo deltarpm=0 >> /etc/yum.conf && yum -y update polkit && sed -i ':a;$!{N;ba};s/\ndeltarpm=0//g' /etc/yum.conf && yum -y update
That allowed me to get polkit updated and once that was done the rest of the updates downloaded and installed successfully.
