centos-release-7-6.1810.2.el7.centos.x86_64
After recent updates, system runs BUT i find I cannot restart services or even reboot from command line.
Have rolled back to an earlier state where 'all is well', but there are tons of updates pending and I'm not sure exactly which one is killing things.
It's definitely related to this known issue https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3959351.
A solution is posted on RedHat, but I am not a subscriber, so can't see it
Also this https://access.redhat.com/solutions/3550072
And I tried these suggestions, which did not help - https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1543343
I have three near identical DEV servers (all VMs running on same hypervisor) but only one is affected. All others are fully 'yum updated' and have no issues with systemctl commands, shutdown, apachectl, etc etc)
Anyone else run into this??
I've been selectivity trying yum updates ( avoiding obvious dbus, systemd ones) but it seems that some of the lib updates trigger this failure mode ( and I have to roll back again). Its a DEV server so I definitely need the ability to restart the apache process frequently...
strange bug: systemd, dbus, polkit ???
