But for some reason i can't find thunderbird? Am i not looking right??

I only have Centos and elrepo yum repository's enabled.

I get the following:

Code: Select all

yum search mozilla

 * elrepo: mirrors.coreix.net

It is in base.
Please post the output of:
uname -a
cat /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo

Didn't see the reply, this is the output:

Code: Select all

[base]
name=CentOS-$releasever - Base
mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=os
#baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-7
priority=1
Output from uname:

Code: Select all

Linux localhost.localdomain 3.10.0-123.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jun 30 12:09:22 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

If you look in http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64/Packages/ you see there is no thunderbird.

My yum search thunderbird returns

Code: Select all

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: centos.corenetworks.net
=========================== N/S matched: thunderbird ===========================
thunderbird.x86_64 : Mozilla Thunderbird mail/newsgroup client

  Name and summary matches only, use "search all" for everything.

I just checked a lot of mirrors, there is no thunderbird, nor does it exist on the iso.

Thunderbird is no longer part of CentOS base/updates repos. It's now in EPEL.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
