Citrix Reciever install in Centos 7

Post by nealeb52 » 2014/08/19 16:19:12

Has anyone successfully installed Citrix Receiver in Centos 7? I keep getting stuck on the libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0 requirement and can't seem to find a suitable RPM.

doing a 'yum provides */libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0' show me:

webkitgtk-2.2.4-1.el7.x86_64 : GTK+ Web content engine library
Repo : epel
Matched from:
Filename : /usr/lib64/libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0

Have you got the epel repository configured so you can get at that?

It looks like it wants the 32bit version, as I have the 64bit version installed. And it can't find nspluginwrapper

Citrix Receiver install in Centos 7

Post by warron.french » 2017/04/13 02:20:12

Hi we need to get Citrix Receiver 13.5 (not RC) installed on RHEL-7-client machines.

We are having problems with the yum install and/or the rpm -ivh installation of the RPM.

It seems to hang at the very end of installation. So, I decided to attempt to install the RPM on CentOS-7 for testing.

The package when executing a yum localinstall -y ICAClient (of the Full Self-Service) variant RPM I get back a response of a dependency - webkitgtk. It doesn't say webkitgtk3; which is what CentOS (at least my installation) has installed. The package refuses to install gracefully.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I decided for further pushing the limits to also execute an rpm -ivh ICAClient-*.rpm --nodeps; and of course it installed without complaint.

Finally I did a search in the installed directory for all of the ELFs and executed an ldd against them all.

The list was approximately 6 files (if I remember correctly).

Is this the wrong forum for getting help on this RPM installation considering it is a fee-based branded product?

I ask because several other people have reached out to no avail.

Thanks,
Thanks,
War

Hi Brian, no, I don't have the EPEL repository installed.

webkitgtk.x86_64 2.4.9-1.el7 @epel
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Closing this, never got to test the suggestions; however, Citrix finally released a new RPM for my project's use. So, version 13.6 is now out as of last weekend.

Taking this a step further, we are needing to get browser content redirection working. It requires webkitgtk with a version >= 2.16. Anyone had any luck setting this up? Citrix Workspace (Receiver 1810) works beautifully in kiosk mode under CentOS and is exactly what my company is looking for to repurpose some older hardware but without the ability to do content redirection, the project is dead in the water. I'm trying to get some help from the Citrix forums as well but it seems that the Linux communities tend to be quicker (and more thorough) with solutions so I wanted to reach out here as well.
