Pidgin is available for yum install from nux-dextop.

Don't attempt to install packages for another version of the distribution, it will only lead to pain and suffering! The one you have there is intended for CentOS 5 and that won't work on CentOS 7.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
