recommendation for screen streaming software

Post by 1885 » 2015/04/26 14:39:08

We are trying to develop videos on usage of software using centos 7.
I would appreciate a recommendation for screen streaming capture (other than command line ffmpeg)
that people are using.

We have done a bit of experimentation with vlc on using debian. The audio did not work though.

Thank You,

I've been using recordmydesktop with good results. The audio works, although it doesn't hurt to test it first since sometimes upon fresh boot or re-plugging in of the mic it needs to be reset. The .ogv format is okay, depending on the level of fidelity you need and whether your target audience can view these files.

Nowadays, if you download the rpm and point yum to it, yum should pull in necessary dependencies (if available). That is, if you download somefile.rpm and it goes your Downloads directory, running sudo yum install Downloads/somefile.rpm should check for, and pull in, necessary dependencies.
