Update not working

When I run the software update tool, it simply freezes with no output.

When I run yum update it tells me that one of the configured repositories has failed.

I've tried running yum clean all

Please provide the full output of yum update.

by any chance do you have an expired trial repository from rpm.pbone.net? i ask because i had one. i deleted it, and update works as it should again. had me going for a while to find that one. not saying it is that exactly, but it may be a place to start.
