vino-server crashing

Post by davidbiesack » 2017/05/18 17:30:42

I have a new CentOS 7.3 system. When I log on with either Gnome or Gnome Classic, vino-server crashes when I try to connect from another machine on our local intranet.

May 18 12:45:16 d77781 gnome-session: ** (vino-server:24725): WARNING **: Deferring authentication of 'mla655.na.sas.com' for 5 seconds
May 18 12:45:22 d77781 gnome-session: (vino-server:24725): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.desktop.background' does not contain a key named 'draw-background'
May 18 12:45:22 d77781 kernel: traps: vino-server[24725] trap int3 ip:7f1f53b09643 sp:7ffd3fa4cdc0 error:0
May 18 12:45:22 d77781 abrt-hook-ccpp: Process 24725 (vino-server) of user 394 killed by SIGTRAP - dumping core
My session is X11, not Wayland, so I don't think it is this bug.

I can restart it via Sharing -> Screen Sharing but it crashes every time I try to connect.

Is there a solution? Other VNC servers like vncserver appear to create new sessions rather than sharing my existing session.

I had this same issue and it came about because I used gconf-editor and disabled the background (disable-background) image setting in org->gnome->desktop->remote-access

After enabling the background it started working again.
