Play MIDI in Totem/Videos with gstreamer - fluidsynth is missing

Post by odysseus » 2017/06/18 13:43:45

Seems like I need "fluidsynth" plugin with gstreamer to play MIDI files in Totem/Videos. But I have gstreamer-plugins-bad package installed and latest version, but fluidsynth doesn't seem to be included. Totem says "the following plugins is required: audio/x-midi-event decoder".

Any tips on how to acquire fluidsynth? Thank you.

I saw this as a bug in Fedora 20, but I think this should be fixed that the fluidsynth is now included in gstreamer-plugins-bad but maybe this is not updated on CentOS 7.

I believe what I'm looking for is libgstfluidsynth.so but there is no package for CentOS.

Still can't find fluidsynth, so I get by with Timidity++ to play MIDI files.
