I am new to Centos7 and I mapped my Synology drive where my MP3's are stored. I am trying to use Rhythmbox but nothing plays. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to install something else to get MP3's to play?
Thanks.
MP3 issue
Re: MP3 issue
There is no mp3 support in CentOS itself due to patent issues (now expired but at the time CentOS 7 was released was still a concern). The third party Fedora EPEL repo has recently started adding mp3 related things like lame and the nux-dextop repo has a lot more multimedia stuff that isn't deemed "safe" in the USA. I am not sure if adding those repos and installing the relevant packages will automatically enable it in rhythmbox or if it would need to be rebuilt to add support. You can only try...
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Re: MP3 issue
I'm not familiar with rhythmbox, but mplayer or mpv (I think both are available from the nux repos, though not sure about mpv) should be able to play mp3s.
