Nautilus how to paste with mouse when list is full?

I use Nautilus in list view to view my files/folders. If a folder has more files/folders than will fit on the screen then there's no white space to right click in to get the menu that allows you to do things like paste or create a new folder. With CentOS 7.3/Gnome 3.14 Nautilus to work around this you could use the menu button in Nautilus' title bar to get to the paste and new folder commands.

With CentOS 7.4/Gnome 3.22 Nautilus the menu button in Nautilus' title bar no longer has the paste command, it's a smaller list of commands you can run (like new folder). Is there still an easy way to paste with a mouse if Nautilus is in list mode (and the window is full of files/folders)? The best mouse workaround I've come up with is to temporarily switch to icon view so that you have white space to use to get to the mouse's right click menu.
