I need a newer version of sane backend on centos7
Can you help me?

I have read I should download a source rpm from fedora, but I haven't understood from which version of Fedora

Why do you need it and what is your current version? rpm -qa sane\*
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Sep 12 22:26:13 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

rpm -qa sane\*
sane-backends-drivers-scanners-1.0.24-9.el7.x86_64
sane-backends-libs-1.0.24-9.el7.x86_64
sane-backends-1.0.24-9.el7.x86_64
sane-frontends-1.0.14-19.el7.x86_64

/etc/centos-release
CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core)

I need it, for my scanner (canon lide 220)
with newer version of sane it works perfectly, with this version it doesn't work
