Is it safe to install KDE Plasma if I already have GNOME installed?

Hi,

I have CentOS 7.4 with GNOME installed, but I am having some issues with it, and I would like to try KDE to see if it fixes it. I have found this guide on how to install DE's on CentOS, but I am not sure if that will be safe or not. Whenever I tried installing KDE on Ubuntu, when I was using it, I always had some problems.

Also, if it is safe to do so, what would be the best way of doing it?
