Even if installed with rpm -Uvh --nodeps installation, it does not operate correctly, probable SSE3 e.t.c. instruction set problem....

If you have the skype repo installed then running yum install skypeforlinux-5.5.0.1-1 should work.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Installs and works for me too. Good to see they took notice and fixed it.
