screen sessionname length limitation

Post by bla » 2018/02/05 13:23:32

I have a strange issue. When try to start screen with -S sessionname length larger than 81 - 82 letters got the "Invalid argument" error

Screen version 4.01.00devel (GNU) 2-May-06

screen -S aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
bind (/var/run/screen/S-bla/3587.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa): Invalid argument

Screen version 4.06.02 (GNU) 23-Oct-17

./screen -S aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (
bind (/tmp/screens/S-root/13062.aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa): Invalid argument

I noticed that the letters in the section "bind" are 109: bind ( 109 letters ): Invalid argument

CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core)

I do not have such limitation on CentOS release 6.9 (Final)

screen -r
There are several suitable screens on:

Any ideas how to solve this ?
