Re: How to properly upgrade Firefox 56 to 58
Firefox from CentOS repo is updated automatically by command: yum update.
If you have own version of FF installed in Your system from Mozilla, and You would update it then just override folder with new files.

Thanks for your reply mghe. I did the yum update and I got a no packages marked for update
Alternatively, I did the second choice to copy overwrite firefox folder but thenafter FF won't run at all.
Any more thoughts?

I don't know when new version of FF will be available in CentOS repo.
For Your own instance of FF, just remove files from folder and unpack new one. Your settings will be preserve.

For the release cycle of Firefox ESR see https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/mghe wrote:I don't know when new version of FF will be available in CentOS repo.
So the next version of Firefox in CentOS will be Firefox 60 ESR and should become available around August 2018.
