Boinc trying to write to deleted files - messages log filling

Post by lightman47 » 2018/08/17 13:08:01

Only one of my several machines running current CentOS7 and Boinc is loading my messages log with "setroubleshoot: SELinux is preventing /var/lib/boinc/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/setiathome_8.00_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu from execute access on the file /SYSV0100ec79 (deleted). For complete SELinux messages run: sealert -l e0716cc8-3360-40ec-8d52-150c199c7143" about every two minutes. I've 'yum reinstalled boinc\*', I then again yum updated/rebooted; still this behaviour persists. Coincidentally, it's also processing a pile of 1 minute SETI packets, but that may be a separate issue.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

Thank you.

Why is it trying to execute anything?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

I've no idea how it works.

That prompts another curiosity in my mind - 'Why only that machine, and why even after a reinstall of the app?' Given your question I suspect it may be time for a yum reinstall \*.\* on that machine. Apparently something besides boinc is amiss.
