Dear All,
I am trying to install openldap serer on fresh new centos 7 64 bit machine and I have followed the steps in tutorials and even some videos examples but when i try to add the base.ldif file it ask me for a password but always says
ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49)
I am sure that the password entered is right
i even did a re-partition of disk and installed centos 7 2 more times and followed the procedure but same problem persists
Then i tried to google and found some videos and but these videos talk on modifying the /etc/openldap/slapd.d/cn=config hdb and monitor files manully in vi and after I do that when i try to start the ldap service it fails stating
------
544f7291 ldif_read_file: checksum error on "/etc/openldap/slapd.d/cn=config/olcDatabase={1}monitor.ldif"
544f7291 ldif_read_file: checksum error on "/etc/openldap/slapd.d/cn=config/olcDatabase={2}hdb.ldif"
----
appreciate if someone could help me as to where this issue could be and how to fix it
or if there is a link which i just follow and it works ..
sorry for the post as i am a novice to ldap .
Thanks in advance
regards
simon
