Using the regular CentOS repositories, as well as epel (yum install epel-release) and atomicorp repositories, I am unable to find denyhosts. It is on earlier versions because I installed it in the past, but when I install CentOS 7 18.04 and then EPEL (vs. updating from earlier releases), yum cannot find it.
I could install it from git, but the process is long and I would like to get updates automatically, if possible. I don't want to use fail2ban, as I use denyhosts extensively elsewhere.
CentOS 7 18.04 missing denyhosts in epel
Re: CentOS 7 18.04 missing denyhosts in epel
https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/denyhosts says "Denyhosts is unmaintained upstream and does not support systemd or firewalld. Please use Fail2Ban."
I don't think you're going to get denyhosts from EPEL. I would still consider the fail2ban option.
