Hana database installation

Post by maklimaye » 2018/11/15 05:53:35

While installing Hana datbase on Centos7 version, got stuck at below error :
/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.8' not found

The error resolution says we need to add library package : compat-sap-c++-6

Kindly let me know, if this package is available for download.

It isn't built for CentOS. SAP do not support installation on CentOS, only on RHEL.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Do a web search and you will find a rpm package for scientific linux.
I don't know if it works, and for what I know, it may break your system beyond repair.

If you have access to rhel 7 hana repositories, you may download the rpm and deploy it.
Still this is pointless as future updates will not be possible without future access to the libraries for hana.
If this system is for development purposes, you can benefit from Red Hat's developer subscription.

For details, check developers.redhat.com .

as far as i know, it's not supporting centos.

you can install it on "Red Hat Enterprise Linux" or "Suse Linux"
