I have CentOS 7 running now for a couple of months and these last weeks there were not any updates.
I do a yum update today and its updating like 688 packages now.
Looking at:
https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/cent ... hread.html
I see no packages updates at all.
Being a new CentOS user this surprises me allot. Is this normal?

Re: Bam, 688 base updates out of the blue?
Yes it's normal when a new point release comes out - CentOS 7.6 was released yesterday, following on from the release of RHEL 7.6 at the end of October.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
