Hello.
I wanted to install a program using "yum" but it showed me an error about:
Code: Select all
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
Then I did:
Code: Select all
# yum-complete-transaction --cleanup-only
# package-cleanup --cleandupes
But, problem exist and not solved.
Any idea?
Thank you.

Nor will it be until you give us a hint about what the problem may be. The error messages you failed to provide were exactly the clues needed to help you. All you provided was your system's 'complaint' - not WHY it complained!
Then there's the issue of duplicate packages mentioned ONLY in the Subject and never again.
<wink>

When I did "yum update":
Code: Select all
# yum update
.

.
--> Finished Dependency Resolution

Did you actually
read that wiki page? The bit you need to read is
Updated info: it looks like the package-cleanup command got a new(ish) switch starting in 7.5: --removenewestdupes which does exactly what the rest of this massive article used to attempt to do manually. Try running package-cleanup --removenewestdupes as a first step before you carry on. If the switch is unknown then you might need to follow the rest of this article. Otherwise it probably already did what was needed and you can rerun yum update and this time, make sure the power's on/tmux is in use etc.

I did :
Code: Select all
$ package-cleanup --dupes --noplugins > packages.txt
# for p in $(cat packages.txt); do echo rpm -e --justdb --nodeps $p;done
but, problem exist.

No wonder. See
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Cleaning ... tePackages and hit Ctrl-F, type "echo" and read the relevant sentences.

I even quoted the relevant section in my last reply yet you still ignore it.
