Bug Reporting

Post by labuss » 2019/01/09 21:44:30

Hi folks

I am writing for guidance on how to report a CentOS 7 component crash. I created an account on the bug tracker website. Is the recommended procedure to use the "bug reporting" features of CentOS 7?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance on this matter.

If you think you have a bug then report it on http://bugs.centos.org - look for similar issues there with possible workarounds. If nothing found then open a new ticket. If you think this is an issue that's also in RHEL of the same version then do the same at https://bugzilla.redhat.com and link the CentOS ticket to the BZ ticket in the field provided.

Are you sure that what you have is a bug and not a misconfiguration?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

I imagine a configuration issue may be at fault. These Xorg X11 crashes happened at the first login to the system after a fresh install and update. I posted a bug using the "automated reporting" tool.

Thanks

Are you using an ATI/AMD video chipset? Those automatic bug reports are pretty much ignored so we don't have any details about what the problem is in the forums. More information would help us to help you.
